2008 BRIGHTON CREEK CALENDAR

August , 2008   BRIGHTON CREEK SUMMER NEWS

July was an amazing month for Brighton Creek, the highlight of which was the loving announcement by our beloved National Spiritual Assembly dated July 11, 2008, stating the following:

“It is with great joy we announce the formal transfer of the Brighton Creek Conference Center in McKenna, Washington from the Spiritual Assembly of Pierce Co CD#3 to the National Spiritual Assembly.”

A complete copy of this letter is in this mailing.

The loving support, patience and hard work of an incredible amount of people have made this possible.  It is indeed an historic occasion.

Last year at the Labor Day gathering, we promised that this was going to be the year;

This was the year for the new well.  This was the year of Brighton Creek becoming licensed and open to serve public groups.  The funds, the helpers, the prayers have been steadily coming in.  The fruits of your support and efforts are visible!

We have a Great Announcement!  THE WELL HAS BEEN DRILLED!  We have an abundance of water.  As we write, the process continues; testing is being done to verify how wonderfully pure our water is, which will then lead to the final decisions on our pumps, holding tanks, etc.  We anticipate the entire process to be completed and the final approval in the very near future.

More Great News!  We also have had our inspection from Pierce County of our entire facility, which was step one to be licensed to serve the public.  They love what we have done!  All the improvements that have been made to the Kitchen, Septic, Bathrooms and Cabins brought us to this point and the County is very impressed with the quality and design.  We are down to the wire, and the approvals for Brighton Creek are very, very close.   We have a list, and we are checking it off.  So far this last month, we have a new double door refrigerator, and an ice machine.  For the dining room, there is a new coffee service with instant hot water for tea and cocoa.  And the new cabinet with a sink!  We now also have an outdoor utility sink and shortly the drinking fountains will be installed.  Just a few minor repairs and trim work is all that is needed to finish the whole list.  The minute we have the final approval on the well, the final application for food service will be submitted.   We will keep you posted.

We could not have done it without you.  We are so appreciative of ALL the volunteers and supporters who come to help us, and we are SO grateful to Baha’u’llah for sending us this ongoing cadre of devoted, committed servants.  Brighton Creek shines as the doors open to welcome our guests, and it is truly an example of our Faith in action, because of you.
